Christian Louboutin: Red Soles Are His Alone!

Ever heard of the word "Trademark?"
--------------------------------------------------

Christian Louboutin recently filed a lawsuit at Manhattan Federal Court against fashion rival Yves Saint Laurent for using the color red on their shoe soles.

Apparently, Mr. Louboutin has asked Yves Saint Laurent (A subsidiary of Gucci group) to stop selling red sole shoes in the same select Manhattan Stores as he does, since January. "Mr. Louboutin is the first designer to develop the idea of having red soles on women's shoes... Defendants' use of red footwear outsoles that are virtually identical to plaintiffs' Red Sole Mark is likely to cause or is causing confusion, mistake and deception among the relevant purchasing public," The suit said.

$1 million in damages and order for YSL to stop manufacturing similar designs, are the suits demands.

"The Red Sole has become synonymous with Christian Louboutin and high fashion," it said (TRUE ENOUGH!), adding that Louboutin had trademarked the design in the United States in 2008.

The Gucci Group and the US branch of Yves Saint Laurent declined comment on the lawsuit.

  1. Hollywood stars are red sole shoes so keen on Christian Louboutin red-sole shoes that even though how expensive they are, these stars will buy the expensive shoes one by one. It is said Red Pumps Sale that there are more than 3000 female stars who own 500pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes.
