Movies Im Excited To See Next Year (2012)

2011 was a great year in terms of Hollywood Movies, but I think the reel world will be rocking in 2012!!

3 days to go before 2012, and so I decided to make a list of the movies
I am excited to watch by next year!! In no particular order!!

Underworld: Awakening

Fierce Kate Beckinsale is back as Selene the Death-dealer. This time around it's the werewolves and vampires versus humans!!! Like the first few Underworld movies, I think this one will rock!!

Wrath of the Titans
This is a sequel to the 2010 film Clash of the Titans. Im excited to see this because this is a refresher course to the mythology classes which I have already forgotten.

Rock of Ages

Since Im into Broadway Musicals, Rock of Ages will definitely be on this list! Not to mention Catherine Zeta-Jones is in this film!!

Snow White and the Huntsman

"Mirraw-Mirraw oon the whoa.." I just love Charlize Theron and Im excited to see
the twist on this epic Fairy Tale!!

G.I. Jose: Retaliation

Many said the first GI Joe movie sucked!! But I think it's not that bad and then maybe this
upcoming movie will be a redemption. Hot Channing Tatum is back, and yes Sienna Miller is no longer part of the movie. Instead, they included The Rock, and of course Bruce Willis. What else could you ask for??

The Hunger Games

Im excited to see this because it's been getting a lot of hype in the news!!

The Dark Knight: Rises

If it's from Christopher Nolan then it must be good!! The first Dark Knight movie was really good, and I think this one is better (base on its trailers). Im excited to see Anne Hathaway's take on Catwoman!!

The Avengers

Im a Marvel Superhero fan!! That's why The Avengers is on top of my list! Im excited to see my favorite superheroes in one film!!!

There are 2 more movies I'm excited about, but I cant find their Trailers...

Twilight Saga: The Breaking Dawn Part 2
What I'm excited about is how they will execute the Volturi and Cullen meetup in the end of the book!

 And

Resident Evil 5: Retribution
I have loved all the Resident Evil Movies whether it was a big hit or not, this film franchise has been on my list of best Computer Game- Movie adaptation!!

So that's it! As you can see I love action films (with Kick ass chicks! lol).
Checking out all the trailers I posted makes me really pumped up for 2012!!!

Goodbye 2011!! It has been a great year!!

Preview Magazine Covers Charice

Her name is Charice (less the pempengco) and she is ka-vogue! She is now popularly known by her first name not just in the country but also internationally.

Charice has come a long way since she guested on Oprah as a young talented little girl to watch out for a couple of years ago. Now she's ready to take the grown up stage by storm. What better way to start it by being the first 2012 issue cover of the country's leading fashion magazine, Preview!

I think this fashionable cover is Charice's baptism to the world of fashion and fierceness!! Good job Preview!!!

Much Love And Appreciation This Christmas

Merry Christmas Y'all!!!!!

It's past 4AM, my energy is still pumping even if I don't have enough sleep since yesterday! And so I just decided to blog a little something.

This year is not exempted from that little sadness I usually feel during Christmas seasons. I don't know, there must be some kind of scientific explanation for that state where you feel depressed and sad just by thinking about Christmas. It's definitely not me hating on Christmas. It's more of feeling sad because you're missing some of the people you love (those who passed away or who just went away) and it makes you feel that it would've been a happier Christmas if they are around :(

Though I must admit that it's so not me to dwell on sadness. I dont let that "Emo Moment" ruin my Christmas. I still enjoy the night with my love ones and relatives. All of the sadness disappears when I see my relatives and love ones smiling, enjoying the food, and loving the gifts I gave them. My relatives are definitely not hard to please, give them a gift (cheap/expensive) and they will genuinely smile and say thank you. No doubt they are my relatives, because I too am like that...

And so for those who gave me gifts and to those who sent their love through their Christmas greetings!! I wanted to send you all my warmest appreciation and love!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!! You all made my 2011 Christmas a special one!! Much love!!!

XoXo

ps: Thank you Jaser for giving me the most thoughtful gift this Christmas (The Vape), it'll definitely be helpful in my quest on quitting my nic addiction ... LYM!

iStyled: Venus Raj for Manila Bulletin 12/21/2011

Ambassadress of hope

By ANGELO G. GARCIA
December 21, 2011

MANILA, Philippines — Venus Raj knows how it is to be a child. No, make that, a poor child.
She knows how it is like to have no money.
She knows how it is to live in a small house with no electricity back in her hometown in Bato, Camarines Sur.
She knows how to make do with only one peso in her hand.
But the beauty of it all is that Venus never looks back at poverty with resentment and bitterness. It was an experience that made her who she is now, a strong woman with a vision of her future.
“Kung iisipin ng ibang tao ‘yung kalagayan namin parang ang hirap ng buhay namin. Pero sa amin, normal lang na piso ang baon namin sa elementary, dalawampiso sa high school. Masaya na ako na piso ang baon ko,” the 23-year-old beauty queen recalls
Today, as an Ambassador for Poor Children’s Rights and Welfare of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and a spokesperson of TINGOG 2015 campaign of United Nations Philippines, Venus is more than just the face and voice of promotion. She knows in her heart what she is advocating for.
“Hindi talaga ako nag hesitate, yes, gustong-gusto ko. Just being there and serving as an inspiration to children and their parents. Alam nila ang story ko kung saan ako nanggaling, kung anong klaseng pamumuhay meron kami dati. Nakaka-relate ako sa pinagdadaanan nila,” Venus enthuses.

CAUSE CELEB
Venus says being a beauty queen is not just about looking good in front of the crowd. More importantly, it is using the title to positively influence and help others.
After winning fourth runner-up in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant, Venus immediately rose to fame, in a “major, major’’ way. She is now one of the hosts of the morning talk show “Umagang Kay Ganda.’’
“I’ve been interested in this advocacy but I did not know how to do it when I did not have a voice yet. It helps na kahit papaano nakatulong ang Miss Universe, nakatulong na nasa showbiz ka kasi ‘yung mga gusto mong gawin magagawa mo kasi you’re someone already,” she says.
As Ambassador for Poor Children’s Rights, Venus helps promote maternal health and the importance of education through DSWD’s Conditional Cash Transfer or the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, a poverty reduction project geared to help the extremely poor for healthcare and education.
Venus was also recently chosen as the spokesperson of TINGOG 2015, an SMS and online citizen’s feedback program which aims to use information and communications technology to empower citizens to report on delivery of services and expect timely response from local governments. This aims to help fulfil the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

EDUCATION, NO MATTER WHAT
Education is one of Venus’ main advocacies. For her, finishing her education was the only way she could have reached her current place in the sun. She was able to finish high school and college through a scholarship from a foundation. Venus finished a degree in Communication Arts from Bicol University.

DREAMS DO COME TRUE
Of course, Venus’ other passion is joining beauty contests. From these tilts, Venus get a certain high, moreso when she clinchéd a place in the Miss Universe pageant.
“Ang sarap kasi ng feeling kapag nasa entablado ka, nagco-compete ka, hihintayin mong sabihin kung sino ang mananalo. Siguro, bilang bata, ‘yun ang gusto kong gawin kasi ‘yung older sister ko, nagpa-pageant din, nakikita ko siya, so parang inidolize ko siya,” she shares.
Venus started joining beauty pageants when she was Grade 5. Her first beauty contest controversy also came around that time when her winning was questioned by the school principal. The crown was given to a schoolmate instead.
“I was vying for Ms. Intramurals and I got first runner-up. Pero umakyat ang principal namin and said, no, hindi siya ang panalo. Kasi daw Grade 6 na siya, next year wala na siyang pagkakataon, si Venus puwede pa next year. Unang pageant pa lang may ganito na agad?” she now looks back with amusement.
Since then, Venus has not stopped until she got to the top of the beauty contest circuit. In 2008, she was crowned fourth runner-up in Miss Earth 2008. In 2010, she was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Universe, and eventually the fourth runner-up in Miss Universe.
The only advice she can give to aspiring beauty queens is to finish their studies first before doing pageants seriously. “Walang masama sa beauty pageants basta tapusin niyo pag-aaral niyo, puwede ka naman sumali anytime,” she says.
She adds: “Makinig sila sa magulang nila kasi wala silang hahangarin na masama para sa’yo. Huwag sila titigil sa pangangarap at pagtrabahuhan ang pangarap na ito.’’
A SIMPLE CHRISTMAS
For this year, Venus plans to celebrate Christmas with her family in a simple celebration, something she always looks forward to every year.
“I will definitely be with my family.
I wish this Christmas season will be the happiest Christmas celebration. I hope,” she says.
The best gift she has given though, she says, is nothing material — forgiveness. “Forgiveness, for some people. Hindi mo naman maiiwasan ‘yung conflict with other people pero if you forgive these people and talagang masasabi mo na wala kang dinadalang sama ng loob kasi alam ko na nagpatawad ako.” (With interview by Ronald S. Lim)

Vogue's Top 10 Models of 2011

Ever wondered who among the numerous Top Models had the most number of features and editorials in Vogue Magazines (worldwide) for 2011?

Here's a Top 10 list made by Fashionista.com tallied based on the quantity and quality. "Not only must a models’ appearances be plentiful, but the quality of those appearances must be stellar as well. This includes factors like only-girl editorials, the caliber of photographers they work with and editions they’re in, and their number of overall pages." (Photos courtesy of Fashionista)

Let's do this from 10-1!!!

Karmen (Ford Models) did not do any editorials for US Vogue but
she has been busy gracing the covers and spreads for UK and Paris!
Liu (Marilyn) started off gracing several editorials for her native Vogue China last year and expanded
to Italia, Spain, and US without having to share the spotlight in her editorials.
Sasha (IMG) may not show up in the same amount of editions that her list-mates do,
she has a significant presence in editions like
Vogue US and Paris,
the latter of which featured her more than any other model this year.
It was an end-of-year push that gave Natasha (Women) the strength to nab spot number 7. Natasha got a gig guest-editing the November issue of Vogue Spain which had a significant effect on her standing.
Joan‘s work this year has the brilliant building blocks for a spot on the top 3 — repeat appearances in top editions like Italy, Paris, and US, and working with over a dozen big name photographers. Although, Joan (IMG) almost always shares the spotlight, and gets much fewer pages on average than all the other ladies on this list.
Another Vogue US favorite, Lara (IMG) manages to court the biggest name photographers and editions in the game. The Calvin Klein model was a big cover girl for 2011 with a total of six, includingVogue Paris twice
Anja (NEXT) has been in the game for quite some time and has managed a consistency of work that’s tough to achieve, let alone maintain. This year has been successful both personally and professionally for the Polish model. Anja appeared on the covers of Vogue not once, but twice with her husband and fellow model, Sasha Knezevic.
Top campaigns, her Victoria’s Secret debut, and that controversial, headline-making Italian Vogue editorial. Not to mention Anna Wintour’s love affair with Karlie (NEXT) continues, she spent most of her time in the pages of the American edition. More than any other model, in fact.
Raquel (DNA) has been in the business for over 10 years, an astounding amount of time to be in the business for any model, and continues to prove just how in demand she is. Meiselhas been all over her (two Vogue Italia covers to her credit in 2011) and her work with top photographers like David Sims and Inez & Vinoodh keeps her in the pages of Vogue US and Paris.

And the top spot goes to....

Arizona Muse
"Arizona’s scoresheet was predictably well-rounded. She worked with the best photographers, scored the most solo editorials and graced enough pages to fill an entire August issue all on her own (that’s about 220 for those of you keeping track). She started the year with a bang by starring in only-girl editorials for Vogue China, Italia, Paris, UK and US, and that was in just one month!"

-----------------
Well, at least my beloved Lara made it to this list! But yeah Arizona Muse is just so big this year!!

Speacial thanks to Fashionista.com for making this list!

Sarah Geronimo Feature On Manila Bulletin 12/14/2011

The Initiation of Sarah

Article By JASER A. MARASIGAN

MANILA, Philippines — She is the perennial good girl of showbusiness, one who has become an inspiration to today’s youth.
In amateur singing contests, there is most likely at least one or two contestants who will have their own rendition of her hit songs. When little girls are asked who their favorite singer is, they will readily answer “Ate Sarah”.
“Ate Sarah’’ is of course Sarah Geronimo, and she admits that it is not always easy to protect that image especially since many look up to her as a role model for young people. But she takes it all as a challenge and chooses to look at it as her purpose in life.

“There is pressure to be a role model, as ‘ate’ to them. Pero nandyan naman ang mga parents ko. Well-guided naman ako,” says Sarah, who was recently honored with the Anak TV Seal Award, an annual national recognition honoring TV personalities whom children look up to.
Indeed, with fame comes a big responsibility, and the 23-year-old Sarah knows this too well, having been in the entertainment industry for more than eight years.
“Unfair ba na ang mga tao may ganong ekspektasyon sa akin o sa ibang celebrities? Hindi siguro. I’m just being myself, kung nagkamali man ako, parte ‘yun ng bilang isang tao. We all make mistakes.
‘Yun nga lang mahirap kasi may mga batang nakatingin sa’yo. I’m very, very lucky na kasama ko ang mga magulang ko. Nababantayan nila ako. Nako-correct nila ako agad kapag may nakikita silang mali,” she continues.

STRONGER, WISER
After having quite an eventful year of music accolades, box office successes, and yes that first heartbreak, Sarah has become stronger, wiser and more mature.
“May mga bagay na pinapayagan ng Diyos mangyari. Maybe it’s a wake-up call for me, so that the next time I fall in love, I’m stronger and wiser,” Sarah recalls of her shortlived romance with young actor Rayver Cruz, a time she considers as the most rebellious state that she has gone through in her life. “One positive thing that happened is that I am now more careful. Mas napagingatan mo ‘yung pagkatao mo.”
As she matured both in mind and physique, Sarah’s fashion sense is now more daring. She now pitches for clothing brand Unica Hija, and is ready to show that she has indeed grown up, a little fiercer perhaps, but without veering away too much from her good girl roots. “I’m not getting any younger. Pwedeng magpakita ng konting skin pero hindi naman sexy,” she giggles.

DREAMING OF THAT DIPLOMA
From the struggling girl who tirelessly joined singing contests, to being today’s most successful singeractress of her generation, Sarah has indeed gone a long way.
Since she became the grand winner of the talent search Star For A Night in 2003, Sarah has had a string of platinum albums, charttopping songs, sold-out concerts and top grossing movies. But after all these years, for all her immense popularity, Sarah still finds her success “surreal” and “unexpected”, a feeling that keeps her grounded until now.
“I give back all the credit to my parents. The most important lesson that they imparted to me is humility. Siyempre pinagdaanan namin lahat ‘yung hirap. Never kong makakalimutan ‘yung mga pinagdaanan namin kaya ako nagsumikap na makarating dito ngayon. Ang laking tulong nun. Kapag nakakakita ako ng mga baguhan, sobra akong nakaka-relate sa kanila,” she says.

But if there’s one thing that Sarah longs to accomplish, it is not another platinum album, a sold-out concert or a box-office movie, it is finally getting that college diploma. Sarah is taking up Associate in Arts under the Open University program of the University of the Philippines (UP).
“Mahirap kasi kailangan din devoted ka. ‘Yun nga lang kapag may kasabay na projects nahihirapan akong pagsabayin. Pero after nitong movie with Gerald Anderson (Won’t Last A Day Without You), nagka-catch up na rin kami sa mga requirements na kailangang i-submit.
Every Monday I meet with my tutor. Kaya pagsasabayin na lang,” says Sarah, who also hopes to take a music course after.

“Education is important for the simple reason na hindi forever ang fame. Kaya parati kong sinasabi sa mga bata na mag-concentrate muna sila sa studies nila,” advises Sarah.
“Sumasagi rin sa isip ko na may konting fear, na sooner or later malalaos ka or makakalimutan ka ng tao kasi laging may dumadating na mas magaling or mas maganda. I just pray. Kung ano ‘yung will ni Lord. Kung hanggang saan ako makakarating.”

Lindsay Lohan on Playboy!!

I never really was interested in seeing butt naked women until they said that Lindsay Lohan will be posing for Playboy a few months back.

I don't know! There must be something in that blonde hair and rebellious reputation that made me excited to see her Playboy Photos.

And now, thanks to AnotherMensBlog my curiosity ended. All I can say is, "Oh well!".

Lindsay's Playboy photos are now allover the web! Well, I won't post it in my blog (Of course!) if you want to see the uncensored pics click HERE

Carey Mulligan: Last Years Vogue, This Years Elle

This is interesting!

Last year's Vogue (US) October issue photo of Carey Mulligan is
now this year's French Elle November Cover.

The said cover was photographed by Peter Lindbergh for Vogue US and was styled by no less than Vogue's Grace Codington last year, carey was wearing chanel in the said photo.

What's funny is that these magazine's dont share the same publishing house. So Lindbergh mustve gotten the rights to sell the photo to another mag in another country.

Isnt it a rule for magazines to not have the same cover photos with other magazines regardless of what year or what country it will be published? Where's the artistry in there? Didnt Lindbergh inform French Elle that this photo was shot for Vogue? Didnt French Elle know that their cover will just be a duplicate? Did French Elle even do their research or they just dont care at all? I wonder how Vogue feels about this? Im calling Anna now! LoL

Must See: Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay

Queen of Horror

-------------

I saw the screening of this film last night at UP Film Center. Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay is a film that immediately caught my attention (from seeing the Cinema One Originals tv ads), just by its title alone.

This indie film, according to its director, Antoinette Jadaone, is 95% scripted and loosely based on the life of Ms. Lilia Cuntapay. It shows the aspirations and struggles of a "bit player" more commonly known as "extras" in the local tv and movie industry.

So who the heck is Lilia Cuntapay? There was a scene in the movie where the director asked several pinoys (celebs included) the same question, and all of them didnt recognize who lilia cuntapay was up until the director showed them her picture. I am probably one of the few pinoys who can answer the question immediately. I can still remember calling and naming some classmates "Lilia Cuntapay" back in college. It basically means they look scary. (yep, im a bully back then!)

For the benefit of those who don't know, Lilia Cuntapay is a prominent fixture in local horror films. Her roles are either a witch, a zombie, an "aswang", or anything that can be really scary. I first saw her in the movie "Shake, Rattle, and Roll" where she played as a "Yaya" and she scared the hell out of me. Since then she became the standard peg of a monster/aswang, or witch, in my mind.

The film "Six Degrees of Separation From Lilia Cuntapay" is an homage to the bit players and extras who are struggling to be recognized in the local film industry. Lilia Cuntapay is perfect for the story having been in the industry for years but still remains to be unrecognized. Though in my opinion, the fact that people can recognize her just by looking at her photo is a proof that Lilia Cuntapay is an iconic image in the  horror movies.

This film can make you believe in every scene and in every dialogue, that for me is a proof that a movie is really good . I felt the sadness and frustration after the lead character cried when her expected interview for her Best Supporting Actress nomination was not aired on tv. I believed in every lines delivered by the characters, it's almost as if it was a reality.

The film received several awards at the recent Cinema One Originals Awards Night including the Best Actress Award for Lilia Cuntapay (finally!). For that award, i therefore conclude that Lilia Cuntapay is the real "Horror Queen".

This movie is worth watching and i hope it will be shown to more cinemas nationwide.

Georgina Wilson It's You Already!! lol

Fashion's go to girl!

After appearing as model/stylist for Bench Body in Americas Next Top Model, Georgina Wilson now graces the cover of Rogue Magazine's December Issue!

Remember how i said Rogue Mag has the ability to combine sexy and classy? This latest cover is another proof of my statement. Georgina baring her chest in the photo. Having only a portion of the printed number 50 covering the sensitive area yet still the photo looks sophisticated. Photographed by Mark Nicdao, Rogue's latest issue is already available in major book stores and magazine stands nationwide.

Georgina is probably one of the fashion industry's influential figures. Being able to make Rogue Magazine trend in Twitter yesterday is a proof of Georgina's strong following.

A lot of her fans consider her as the pinoy version of the international supermodel Coco Rocha, because of their striking resemblance. This was not left unnoticed by the international supermodel since Georgina's followers were also able to make "Coco Rocha" trend in twitter philippines. By night time yesterday, the international supermodel acknowledged Georgina's presence and even tweeted that she already started following Georgina.

According to Georgina, she is a big fan of Coco Rocha and she is always honored everytime her fans tell her she looks like the supermodel.

This is one great move for Rogue Magazine, a great year ender issue! Congrats to your team!!!

She's one of the Victorias Secret Hot Mommas (along with Miranda, Alessandra, and Adriana) who graced the latest fashion show!

Just look at that gorgeous face and killer body!

here's a full video of the show I found in youtube!
