Why I'm Excited For 2012!!!

This is why!

It has been my habit (every year) to find something that I would look forward to the following year. Either a new shop opening in the country, a pop icon coming over for a concert, an event, or a movie I am looking forward to watching.

This year, my subject for 2012 excitement will be a movie. A movie that I have never thought would materialize. "The Avengers" 

Avengers or The Ultimate Avengers is a famous Marvel comic book. They are a group of famous mutants/extraordinary superheroes formed to save and avenge the planet. Each character is an icon to the comic book universe (Captain America, Ironman, Thor, Hulk, and Spiderman). That's what made this upcoming movie an amazing and must-watch movie for 2012. Throughout the past years, Marvel has produced movies for each characters (Ironman, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor). And now they are coming in one single action packed Marvel induced movie!!

My Favorites Collaborated!! Folded and Hung + Marvel Comics

And yes!! That is one hell of a collaboration!

As you all may know by now, (if you have read some posts about Folded and Hung) I have repeatedly said that they are my favorite. I am a big follower of Folded and Hung! It is actually my favorite Pinoy clothing brand, and around 50% of my wardrobe are from FnH!

Also I have declared, during my earlier post, my fascination with Marvel Characters and I even showed parts of my Toy Collection . 

The Folded  and Hung - Marvel Collection,  debut last Thursday at their Shangri La Mall store. 

I wasnt able to be the first to see it since I was in Vietnam :(

For Tonight: X-men First Class

So I will be attending the advance screening of X-men: First Class tonight in SM Mall of Asia, thanks to friends who gave the passes!

And now, I'm back to being an excited kid!! As I've said in my previous posts, I am a certified Marvel Action Hero Fan! Any Marvel Comic that's translated into the big screen makes me tingle in excitement!

What's so special with X-men??

Let's just say X-men is the first ever cartoon/TV series I appreciated when I was young. Yes, I was first introduced with The Uncanny X-men when I was 7, and it immediately became my favorite. 

From the Blue and Yellow Spandex Costumes (which i dreamt of wearing) to the Story Plots (discrimination and alienation drama) everything about it became a favorite.

It even inspired me to collect Action Figures!! Not that much though, Some from DC but mostly from Marvel..

So ever since the first ever X-men movie came out, I made it a point to not miss a single Marvel Movie showing on the big screen!

That means tonight is one big night for me!!

I'll be posting some pics and my biased review of it soon! Hopefully I could spot some personality! lol

My Biased Review Of Thor: Must See

I am a Marvel Fan (Review)...

I am a Marvel Legends Toy Collector, I have tons of Action Figures of Marvel Superheroes, and I can say that I'm quite familiar with some of the popular Marvel Comics (X-men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, etc). That's why every time there is a Marvel Superhero Movie, I get really excited.

Before seeing this film, I was really excited to see how Marvel will translate Thor's God-like Story into the big screen and how they will blend the Mythical Story into the Sci-fi aspect of a Marvel Action Hero. I am glad to say that I am pleased with the outcome. 

The movie showed Two locations- Asgard, the world where Thor, Loki, Odin (Anthony Hopkins) reside. This world is where the Visual feast is shown, the CGI and visual effects are just amazing. The Second location is New Mexico, this is where the sci-fi and human aspect of the film took place. This is where Thor met Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) a Scientist/Astrologer who researches on recent extra-terrestrial weather activities until she met Thor after he was exiled by his father from Asgard.

It was nice...

It was nice that they minimized the cheesy love story angle, to focus on the story of how Thor faced the consequence of losing his powers, how he recovered his Hammer (Mjolnir), and how he saved Asgard from his villain stepbrother Loki and the Frost Giants.

It was nice that they added a hint of comedy- Darcy (Kat Dennings) made me laugh with a few throws of funny lines. Thor himself had a few comedic moments after being thrown to Earth, even asking for a cat or dog big enough to ride on.

It was nice that they showed Thor's character to be more human than God. They explained that Thor is not a God, instead he (and the other Characters from Asgard) is an inter-dimensional being, with extraordinary powers, who lives in an interconnected branches of inter-dimensional galaxies that includes our planet.

It was nice to see realistic CGI and Visual Effects, specially during the scenes in Asgard. It was nice how they connected the teaser (at the end of Iron Man 2) to this movie. It was nice to see Stan Lee, and to know that Thor will be back in the Avengers Movie.

Lastly, It was nice to see an actor (Chris Hemsworth) who portrayed the character well. I couldn't think of any other actor who can play Thor like he does. 

My Judgement!

It was a well-made movie! If you're a Marvel Fan like me, you will definitely enjoy it. If you're not a Marvel Fan, I think you will like it.

It's now showing on all major cinemas (here in Metro Manila)!! Watching it in 3D is recommended!!

PS : I just cant let this pass. I heard everyone gasp during the Shirtless scene in the movie. It's as if everyone wants to have (either have the same or get a taste of) that killer body! pics below...
